I was working part time at a recording studio in Farmington
called Sound Patterns. It was run by Danny Dallas. A middle
aged fellow of Greek ancestry, he ran Sound Pats with a flair
for the absurd. His studio was decorated in, what I would call
"early flea market". However, within this rubble he had some
fantastic vintage recording equipment that, coupled with his
many years of experience, sounded astounding. Danny also had
a wonderful way of saying things and, to this day, Bob and I
still regularly use many of what we call "Danny-isms" in our
day to day speech.

One evening Bob and his wife, Carol, came in for a look around
the place. I showed them around the studio, control room,
cutting room and answered their questions. A few days later
Deb and I ran into them at the Arby's restaurant on Middlebelt
and 7 mile roads. We sat together and chatted. Bob mentioned
that he had some 4 track tapes that he had recorded at a small
basement studio called Thumbs Up Sound and that he needed
them mixed down to stereo. I had just bought my Dokorder
4 track tape deck so we invited them over to our house on
Negaunee to do the mixdown. I had a minimal amount of
equipment and ended up mixing using only the 4 output volume
knobs of the deck itself to control the sound levels. The results
of which you'll hear on this CD.

So began, from these humble beginnings, the recording team of
Bob & Terry. The songs in this collection are listed in
chronological order (to the best of my recollection). I'm sure
that you will hear how our sound continued to improve as we
gathered more equipment and experience.
